We are beyond thrilled to announce that The Nightmare on Jay Street Market has been awarded a grant through the Capital Region Arts Center's “Arts Thrive and Grow” Grant Program! It's hard for us to believe that just last November, Nightmare on Jay Street was merely an inkling of aspiration written down in a sketchbook.
Here we are, seven months later, with 57 vendors, 8 local business sponsors, over 1000 followers, and a grant award under our belts. We are deeply grateful and overjoyed for the ongoing and unwavering support and love this market has received from every single one of you.
To every vendor, business sponsor, and community member—thank you for believing in this wild, wonderful, creative (and maybe even a little weird and wicked) idea of ours. We can’t wait to show you all what we have in store and to watch this market, and our community, grow and thrive even more.
More art-magic awaits! With my whole heart,
Kayla Ek
Owner and Director of the Nightmare on Jay Street Market
“Arts Thrive and Grow has been funded by New York State, Kathy Hochul, Governor. We thank Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins for her extraordinary commitment and leadership, and our elected officials who represent our grantmaking region: Senators Jake Ashby and Neil D. Breslin; Assemblymembers Scott H. Bendett, Patricia Fahy, John T. McDonald III, Angelo Santabarbara, Phil Steck, and Mary Beth Walsh.”
